Karel Havlíček is a Czech composer, pianist, and multi-instrumentalist based between Prague and Los Angeles, known for his emotionally driven orchestral scores and cinematic storytelling across film, television, trailers, and live performance.

His credits include original scores for the US documentary Lion Ark (2013), Carpe Noctem (US, 2022), and the Czech Lion-nominated feature The Brothers (CZ, 2023), the Czech Republic’s official submission for the Academy Awards in the Best International Feature Film category. He has also composed music for HBO Europe’s series Terapie and Mamon, the official trailer music for HBO’s US series The Penguin, and the trailer score for Prime Video’s original series ELLE.

Karel received a Czech Lion nomination for Best Music for The Brothers in 2024. In 2026, OSA recognized him as one of the three most successful Czech popular-music authors abroad.

After several years in Los Angeles, Karel continues to work between Prague and Los Angeles, with Kabelovna Studios in Prague as his principal creative base. His artist releases include Spoken (2020), the double album It’s Never Late to See the Light (2025), and Return of the Sun (2026).

An official PETROF Pianos artist and ambassador, Karel performs internationally as a solo pianist and with full orchestras. His live work brings together contemporary orchestral music, piano, electronics and visual storytelling.

His work connects feature films, premium television, trailers and concert stages across the European and international creative industries.
